Some camera types are used for making homemade crafts such as paper or digital photo memory books, creating cards, calendars, and more. Usually these cameras are of the point-and-shoot variety.
A point-and-shoot camera is one that is used by simply aiming at a specific targeting and then pressing a button that takes the picture. Usually there is an average range that allows for the sharpest of close-up or far away pictures. For example, some disposable point-and-shoots usually can take quality pictures from approximately 4 to 10 feet, depending upon the desired outcome of the picture. Point-and-shoot cameras generally speaking are ones that have the ability to focus a picture automatically. However, some of the more advanced point-and-shoot buttons also have a focus button on them to help the user take an even more precise picture. |

Point-and-shoot camera types include most digital, 35mm, and disposable cameras. Additionally, most combination web and digital cameras are point-and-shoot. These are all cameras that can be used by beginning photographers.
One example of a more advanced type of camera is the SLR camera. SLR stands for single-use reflex. This essentially means that the composition, metering, and exposure of a picture taken with this camera is done with one lens. In other words, all that is needed to be done to produce a quality product is done with one lens. A single-use camera is professional enough for advanced use, but yet they are often made simple enough for amateur photographers to use. These type of cameras are often used for taking weather photography and/or other outdoor media shots. There are other types of advanced cameras such as the medium or large format cameras. These are designed for those who have had at least a few years experience taking pictures with other types of advanced cameras. These are the ones that produce the finest professional and artistic photographs. Medium and large format pictures are known to produce more clearer and accurate pictures than point-and-shoots. However, quite a few people have been known to have great success with even some of the simplest point-and-shoot camera types. The quality of picture needed and the type of camera needed to shoot that particular quality of picture depends upon a variety of factors. The biggest factor involved in picture-taking usually involves an individual photographer’s budget. A person usually tries to find the best quality camera for the best price. One other major factor for in regards to determining the quality of pictures for use would be that of determining what exactly the purpose of a picture is. In certain situations it may be possible to take a good enough of a quality of a picture with a cheaper camera if it is what a particular editor or publisher wants. |
