Camera Cases
It can be argued, aggressively, whether or not a camera case is a functional necessity or a waste of money. “You’re not taking pictures of the case; you’re taking pictures outside the case! What is it doing in there?” Nevertheless, arguments can be made and voices ring loudly on both sides. Some who say a case and a camera are two separate entities; some who say a camera and a case go hand in hand. You decide.

Camera cases come in all shapes and sizes; what some may think the most “primitive” model case also allows to be the most advanced; aluminum camera cases. I know, you think: “My first grade lunch box was aluminum, why should I carry something like that around?” Durability, to start. You won’t get nearly the same protection from a cloth bag as you would from an aluminum case. And functionality. Aluminum always holds the same shape, so your product can always go in the same place.

You’re also a lot more likely to get waterproofing that you might not get from a cloth case out of aluminum, though you shouldn’t ever bring out anything expensive or that can be ruined into the rain; but you knew that.

The same could be said for an “underwater” camera case. Unless your camera is made for the underwater, it is never recommended that you dunk your camera (even in a waterproof case) to ‘test’ your merchandise. The disastrous results aren’t even worth thinking about. So as daring as you may have seen those people on TLC be with all their stuff, this is your stuff, and these “waterproof” claims are not guaranteed.

Canon, Nikon, Polaroid, Sony, and Casio; all out there competing for your camera dollar; are also looking for your adverting support by way of your buying one of their case bags. Many retailers also have specialty camera cases like Fisher Price for your little ones or Pink, for breast cancer. You can choose to keep your camera out for the world to see or you can buy a bag emblazoned with one of these companies’ names. You decide.
